Three Relationships, Week 1: A Cost Assessment for Discipleship // Carlos Velez
Wednesday Jan 25, 2023
Wednesday Jan 25, 2023
One of the last things Jesus gave his disciples was “The Great Commission.” His command is simple, make disciples. Our first priority during our time on earth is to do just that, make disciples. We believe disciple-making happens in the context of three relationships: our relationship with God, with the Church, and with the World. Each week of this series, we’ll discover a new topic. From learning the cost of discipleship to developing a missional lifestyle, approaching each piece through the lens of those three relationships. Together, we’ll grow our relationships with God and his church, and be prepared to follow his command to share his love with the world. Thanks for watching! We’re praying that this message impacts you in a meaningful way. With all of the business and stress surrounding the holiday season, the real message of Christmas can often be lost. Sometimes we need a break from the noise, a time to refocus on the real world-changing events that took place on that first Christmas night all those years ago.
Join us today for Simply Christmas. A stripped down service that walks us through the reason for the season, shining the light of God's great love and letting the rest fade into the background. We'll read through the Bible, sing to celebrate the birth of our savior, and take communion. It's simply Christmas and nothing more.

This is the story of a young woman who made a radical commitment to God and journeyed to Bethlehem where she gave birth to a child that would change the world. Sound familiar?
If you’re thinking Christmas, then you’re closer than you realize, but not quite there. The story of Christmas has deep roots. In fact, it begins in the Old Testament. Today we’re taking a look at a similar story where we find one of those roots, the book of Ruth. Living as a Moabite in enemy lands, how did Ruth find faith in the God of Israel, and what brought her to the town of Bethlehem?
Together, we’ll find how Ruth points to God’s amazing plan to save, redeem, reconcile, and transform the world through Jesus, and how the book prepares us to reflect on and celebrate the Christmas story.
We appreciate you taking the time to listen and we’re praying that this message impacts you in a meaningful way!

The actions and skills of our heroes can feel unattainable. But the Bible shows us a different kinds of heroes, ones who were ordinary and flawed, just like us. These biblical heroes recognized their need for strength outside themselves, and God used them in extraordinary ways.
Ordinary people, just like us, accomplished extraordinary things. But what made these characters truly heroic? They did not simply point to themselves but instead to the ultimate hero, Jesus.
