Christmas can be peace, joy, expectation, hope, family, gifts, laughter, community. Christmas can also be disruption, depression, disappointment, disagreements, greed, loneliness, tears. So which is it? A little bit of both, if we're honest. The message of Christmas is that in a world of darkness, pain, and death, God promises reunion and shows up to bring life, hope, and an invitation to be with us forever. If we ever needed to gather together for a party, this is the year! If we ever needed a reason to hope and celebrate, Christmas is that reason.
